Bearings are mechanical components that reduce friction between moving elements by limiting relative movement to what is intended. Door-sliding is one of the example. You cannot push or lift the door to move it from its original position. You can open it just by sliding it. Bearings limit possible movement.  Why do we need Bearings? The primary function of bearings is to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between two moving parts. Friction, heat buildup, and, eventually, part wear and tear are avoided.
